Are you a nurturing, patient and considerate person who would welcome the opportunity to provide academic support and pastoral care for our students with Special Educational Needs in a friendly, caring and supportive environment?

St Paul’s is one of the most successful schools in the country and our GCSE results are in the top 10% nationally. We are seeking to appoint Teaching Assistants to work as part of our experienced SEND team. We are looking to recruit candidates who will provide a strong and positive role model for children who find it difficult to access the curriculum without additional support.

Duties will include supporting students with Special Educational Needs or a disability in their learning, both in the classroom and one to one. You will have an ability to support students by differentiating work, pre-learning key words and explaining tasks. You will need to be patient, understanding and capable of establishing a good rapport with a wide variety of people, particularly children and teachers. ICT skills are required. Previous experience or an interest in teaching would be an advantage but not essential.

This role would suit:

  • applicants looking to return to work on term time basis;
  • those seeking a role that balances work and family life;
  • candidates wishing to embark on a new challenge or career change;
  • graduates looking for teaching experience with a view to becoming a teacher;
  • Sixth Form students on a gap year.

St Paul’s offers local government pension scheme, subsidised nursery and the possibility of accommodation and provides a caring school environment for staff and students.

Closing date for applications: 9am on Monday 14 July 2023.

Applications are considered as they are received; we reserve the right to make an appointment prior to the closing date.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service. We are an equal opportunities employer.
